Production Expediting Clerk/Production Clerk
$27 per hour
Lynn, MA


Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Production Expediting Clerk/Production Clerk:
  • Create, manage, and close out work order schedules handed down by scheduler.
  • Distribute production schedule to production and packaging department and promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.
  • Review and schedule usage of production materials, supplies, or equipment/tools availability to ensure optimal production levels.
  • Evaluate purchase orders and inventory levels to meet production needs.
  • Performs technical review of the manufacturing batch records for completeness and compliance with current good manufacturing practices (GMP) as per regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Purchasing materials to full production schedule on a timely basis to avoid disruptions.
  • Reviewing system information for accuracy in production flow.
  • Either by manual entries to move production items along or scrapping materials in the system. Providing documentation on transactions made to the system.
  • Checking computers, displays, scanners and reliant tools of information is in working condition.
  • Manage and update the bill of material for production changes to ensure the accuracy of materials issued to work orders during the picking process.
  • Super-user of ERP Systems and Windows Office suite.
  • Advises the Operations Manager and Quality Assurance Manager of concerns that could impact the quality of the product or the success of the business, such as training needs, equipment problems, production data trends (yields, rejects, and failures), material changes and inconsistencies within company.
  • Train and assist when needed in system data entries along the production line. These include the process control, mixing station, proof box, blast freezer, oven area, blast freezer and packaging/ palletizer area. Prepare and/or update training materials or reference materials.
  • Monitor material supply flow and identify any shortages or bottlenecks in usage.
  • Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory.
  • Reviews production records to see if errors were made during activities or to determine any product failures.
  • Compiling status and producing reports based on findings and performance of production. Submitting these reports promptly to management team.
  • Implement Company Lean Manufacturing practices relative to Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People (BRC GFSI).
  • Collect and analyze data relating to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
