Job Description
Quality Assurance Associate
Lynn, MA
$17.50 per year
Responsibilities and Requirements of the QA/QC Associate
- Must assure Right First Time delivery of raw materials
- Receive, document and analyze incoming materials, using all available resources and capabilities to ensure appropriate and documented controls are employed
- Must assist business with SQF Level III quality standards, working with the Regulatory and Quality team with the development of policies, protocols and procedures
- Must adhere to safe working practices at all times
- Must perform daily checks of area for non-compliance and report them
- Must provide guidance to the team regarding use and risks for each raw material (storage requirement, lot tracking, shelf life, rotation, short code)
- Report on any short code issues
- Must promptly handle incoming ingredient issues and follows through on the process to ensure proper resolution by maintaining a foreign material & out of specification log
- Liaise with purchasing department for deliveries and issues
- Supplier assurance: ensure controls are clear on agreed specifications, supplier confirmation of quality standards and incoming inspection procedures
- Packaging: establish clear specifications with in-process and finished product packing materials
- Documents systems to ensure that quality standards are being met
- Work with QA and Regulatory team regarding raw material specifications, assisting with raw material specification documentation and protocols
- Develop specifications at the door to assure right first time delivery with KPI rating of Supplier Performance assuring Safe Food at all time
- Manage an effective audit system that will monitor and challenge the quality systems
- When requested, provide ad hoc QA support to the business
- Follow the company GMP s
- Show a positive attitude and a leadership mentality for all employees
- Ensure clean and tidy production area at all times
- Communicate and update all relevant parties of any issues or changes
- Ensure ERP protocols are followed
- Any other tasks deemed reasonable and reasonably requested by management
Qualifications and Experience of the QA/QC Associate
- Must have 2 years + experience preferably in the food industry
- Must have a Degree or equivalent in Quality Assurance, Sustainability and Food
- Excellent interpersonal skills needed for working in a team environment
- Must have a proven track record in safe working practices
- Must have experience working in temperature controlled settings
- Must have experience with perishable items
