Quality Inspector

Rumford, RI

$15.00 per hour

3rdShift

Job Duties and Responsibilities of the Quality Inspector
  • Inspect and measure plating line samples using Microscope, X-Ray equipment and/or Micro-view.
  • Determine if plated product meets customer specifications as defined in the Standard Inspection Procedure (SIP).
  • Check for camber, coil set, and progression as required by SIP.
  • Alert quality staff & production of non-conformances or adverse trends such as plating thickness.
  • Perform wire bond for products that require it.
  • Perform epoxy bleed, steam age, & porosity testing as required.
  • Inspect / measure and package proto-type parts as required.
  • Enter inspection / measurement data into various databases such as Gainseeker & QIMS.
  • Review Gainseeker & QIMS databases removing erroneous entries as required.
  • Conduct in-process audits on the plating lines as required.
  • Maintain plating retains as required.
  • Complete shipping paperwork (Certificates of Completion & Samples) as required.
  • Doc audits as required.
  • Follow non-conformance procedure as required and support quarantine efforts for suspect or defective products.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures as defined in the IEP Employee Manual.
  • Follow all International Standards that apply to IEP s certification and QMS.
  • Follow Company Safety rules and wears the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Handle and dispose of all chemicals per the applicable MSDS and IEP procedure.
  • Maintain an orderly work area.
  • Maintain regular and satisfactory attendance.
  • Perform duties outside of normal work hours as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education, Skills and Qualifications of the Quality Inspector
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must read, write and communicate in English as it relates to this position and safety.
  • Must have 1 to 3 years of experience in a related Manufacturing or Manufacturing Quality position.
  • Must successfully complete 90-day probationary period.
  • Should have good Communications skills both oral and written.
  • Should have good Prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Should have good Organizational skills.
  • Should have good Initiative.
  • Should be Cooperative with the ability to work independently or in a team environment (Teamwork)
  • Should have good Administrative & Record Keeping skills.
  • Should have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
