Key Responsibilities of the Senior Construction Estimator
- Lead the estimation process for various commercial construction projects
- Oversee and maintain a comprehensive cost database
- Analyze labor, material, and time requirements to compute project costs
- Prepare and review detailed reports and bids for submission to clients and stakeholders
- Develop thorough proposals with clear information and cost breakdowns
- Manage and prioritize multiple estimation projects, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
- Provide expert guidance and responses to customer inquiries throughout the bidding process
- Collaborate with project teams and Senior Estimators to review project specifications and drawings
- Mentor and guide junior estimators, fostering professional development within the team
Requirements of the Senior Construction Estimator
- Proven ability to interpret and understand complex construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Excel, On-Screen Takeoff, and Estimating Software (e.G., PlanSwift)
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in construction estimating
- A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
