Shipping / Receiving Associate
Beverly, MA
$16.00 to $18.00 per hour depending on experience

The Shipping / Receiving Associate is responsible for packing and shipping customer orders as well as unpacking and putting away received stock. Some light electro-mechanical assembly based on department activity. Small company environment provides the opportunity for advancement over time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Shipping Receiving Associate

Shipping
  • Pack and process product ready for shipment.
  • Verify accuracy of orders being packed against documentation.
  • Follow shipping instructions and process as specified by customer.
  • Must have at least 6 months of previous shipping and receiving experience

Receiving
  • Open boxes/crates using hand tools to unpack received items.
  • Inspect shipments for damage and defects.
  • Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on invoice or packing slip and purchase orders.
  • Put away all received inventory in designated location.
  • Advise inventory of any discrepancies or damage.

Inventory
  • Move inventory to various locations, manually
  • Sort and store items according to established procedures
