Job Description
Warehouse Associate
Warren, RI
1st shift $18/hr 6a-2p
2nd shift $19/hr 2p-10p
3rd shift $21/hr 10p-6a
Responsibilities of the Warehouse Associate
- Follow proper procedures for receiving all products including verifying actual product against packing slips, confirming product integrity, and checking product temperatures as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of receiving area including loading dock and all equipment.
- Unload raw materials from truck and move materials to warehouse storage.
- Responsible for quality control by ensuring no damaged raw materials are accepted in.
- Operate machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift, pallet jack;high reach industrial truck within standard operating procedures.
- Perform daily pre-shift inspections all equipment being operated.
- Participate in team based huddles and improvement forums.
- Communicate with operators from other shifts.
- Cross train on other warehouse functions to build team flexibility.
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
- Adhere/ follow the food safety programs in the department including GMPs and HACCP plan.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job knowledge, Skills and Abilities of the Warehouse Associate / General Laborer
- Receivers must have basic math skills and should have strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Receivers should be able to prioritize work, be detail oriented and have the ability to communicate effectively with internal department team members and vendors.
- Must have knowledge of the safety and company procedures for handling the receiving goods.
- Must be dependable and be able to work unsupervised in an efficient manner.
- Must be adaptable and flexible in work schedule.
- Must be well organized and able to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
- Forklift, high lift and pallet jack experience required.
- Prior use of scanners and ERP systems required
